Cookie Policy

Last updated: 16 February 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how One Call Group (“we”, “us”, “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on the One Call Group Careers website. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

We use cookies and tracking technologies to understand how candidates use our website and to improve the user experience. We do not use cookies for advertising or to sell data to third parties.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to make them more efficient, and to provide information to site owners. Similar technologies (e.g., local storage, pixels, SDKs) may also be used for the same purposes, and we refer to them collectively as “cookies”.

2. Who sets cookies?

  • First‑party cookies are set by One Call Group on this website.
  • Third‑party cookies are set by external services we use to analyze site usage and manage consent (e.g., GA4, PostHog, CookieScript).

3. How we use cookies

We use cookies only for:

  • Strictly necessary functions (ensuring the site and consent preferences work).
  • Analytics to understand site usage and improve the candidate experience.
  • Session recording/behavior analytics (PostHog) to identify usability issues and improve site design and performance.

We do not use cookies for targeted advertising.

4. Legal basis & consent

  • In the UK and EU, non‑essential cookies (e.g., analytics, session recording) are used only with your consent via our CookieScript banner and preferences center.
  • Strictly necessary cookies are placed without consent as they are essential for the functioning of the site (e.g., storing your cookie choices).
  • You can withdraw or change your consent at any time (see Section 9).

5. The cookies we use

A. Strictly Necessary (always active)

These cookies enable core functionality like consent choices and site security.

  • CookieScriptConsent (first-party)
Purpose: Stores your consent choices by category.
    Duration: ~6–12 months (typical; configurable).
    Category: Necessary.

  • csrftoken / security tokens (first-party, if implemented)
Purpose: Protects against cross-site request forgery in forms.
Duration: Session to 12 months (varies).
    Category: Necessary.

B. Analytics (consent-based)

Google Analytics 4 (GA4) (first‑party)

  • _ga
    Purpose: Distinguishes users.
    Duration: 2 years.
    Category: Analytics.
  • ga* (e.g., _ga_ABC123)
    Purpose: Persists session state.
    Duration: 2 years.
    Category: Analytics.
  • _gid
Purpose: Distinguishes users over 24 hours.
    Duration: 24 hours.
    Category: Analytics.

Notes on GA4:

  • GA4 uses first‑party cookies and provides controls like IP masking and data retention settings. We use GA4 to analyze aggregated behavior and do not use Google Ads features on this careers site.

PostHog (first‑party)

  • ph_phc_*_posthog or _posthog
Purpose: Distinguishes users and sessions; supports analytics and session recording.
Duration: Typically up to 1 year (implementation-dependent).
    Category: Analytics.

Notes on PostHog:

  • We use PostHog to understand how candidates interact with the site, including session recordings. Session recording focuses on UI interactions (clicks, scrolls, navigation) and helps us find and fix UX issues.

6. Session recording details (PostHog)

  • What’s captured: Page views, clicks, scrolls, device/browser info, and general interaction patterns.
  • What’s not captured: We take steps to avoid collecting sensitive content within forms and files (e.g., CV uploads), by masking inputs and disabling capture for specific elements.
  • Purpose: Diagnose usability issues, measure friction (e.g., form drop‑off), and improve the candidate journey.
  • Access: Restricted to authorised One Call Group personnel involved in site improvement.

7. Data retention

  • Cookies expire as listed above or earlier if you delete them or withdraw consent.
  • Analytics data: Retained according to our GA4 and PostHog settings, which are configured to store data only as long as needed for user experience and performance improvements and to comply with legal obligations.

8. International transfers

Depending on service configuration and hosting locations:

  • GA4 and/or PostHog may process data on servers outside the UK/EEA. Where this occurs, we implement appropriate safeguards (e.g., standard contractual clauses) as required by UK/EU data protection law.
  • We do not share analytics data with third parties for advertising or resale.

If you would like details of the specific data transfer safeguards in place for our deployment, please contact us (Section 12).

9. How to manage your cookie preferences

  • Via our cookie banner & preferences center: You can accept, reject, or fine‑tune categories (e.g., enable Analytics) at any time using the CookieScript controls available on the site footer link “Cookie Settings”.
  • Browser settings: Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Doing so may affect site functionality.
  • Do Not Track (DNT): While some browsers offer DNT, there is no common industry standard. We rely on your explicit choices set via CookieScript.

10. Impact of turning off cookies

If you disable analytics cookies, we won’t be able to measure and improve certain aspects of your experience. However, you will still be able to browse and apply for roles.

11. Changes to this Cookie Policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to cookies, our services, or legal requirements. We will post updates on this page with the new “Last updated” date.
